Archaeological scientists from the Khorezm Mamun Academy are conducting archaeological reconnaissance research planned for 2024 in the Toprakkala district of the Khorezm region.
Research is carried out under the guidance of B.P. Sadullaev with the participation of Sh.B. Rakhimov, S.U. Sobirov and F.R. Matkurbanov.
Archaeological reconnaissance research is being carried out on the borders of the Kyzylkum desert. During the research, burial mounds left by ancient pastoral tribes in the south of the Khorezm oasis are studied.
Yesterday our archaeologists discovered a burial mound of the Andronovo culture, whose history goes back 3,500 years. During the construction of the burial mound, large stone slabs were used, and burial mounds of this type are rare finds in the history of Khorezm. These finds located in the territories of Southern Khorezm are an important source for studying the culture, life and funeral practices of the ancient peoples who migrated along the Amu Darya River in the 2nd millennium.
Archaeological reconnaissance research continues.
